WORDS ON PVP by Abe, Firetree

NOTE: AS OF THE SHATTERING, MINIMUM SPAWN TIME DROPPED TO APPARENTLY 3-4 HOURS, NOT SIX.

NEXT NOTE: After this edit somebody experienced an HOUR AND A HALF between Vyragosa and TLPD. Goodbye sleep, TLPD campers. :( Good luck guys, stay strong.

Doing this for weeks on a pvp server and noticing nothing specifically geared toward that on your site, I figured I'd throw out a few tips about camping this thing on one.  Really, though, it's not going to be much different from a pve server since even the opposing faction's campers were there for the same reasons and generally didn't pick a fight.

First up always sit in your pvp spec and gear and always have a trinket on.

If you're parking on an instant agro spot, hop on your flying mount and hover just over the ground. It's vastly harder for you to be cc'd and dismounted while in the air.  (side note: if you're tired of flying mounts' flapping noises you can disable the game sounds.  npcscan will still make noise.  I never tried silver dragon, but I bet it will too.)

On an active server, you're likely to come into contact with the opposing faction a lot over the long periods of time you're camping, especially at the frozen lake and brunnhildar spawns.  Not only are those two the most trafficked merely from people travelling within the zone, but they each have herb nodes that spawn within twenty yards of the drake spawn.

The most important thing to remember is to never actually fight anyone.  You just want them to get bored and leave.  If you get jumped simply hold the spacebar down until you're out of range then ignore the other player.  Do not emote at them or respond in any way.  Killing them, while enjoyable, encourages a prolonged fight.  You're just here for the proto and however good you are at dueling, if that gold dragon actually spawns while you're dealing with even horrible players, not only may they happen to get a tag incidentally, you're likely going to be too tense to play at the top of your game.  Just let any enemy player get bored and leave.

If an enemy is actually fighting you for a spawn spot, you may want to consider changing spots.

For a lot of these reasons, if you're camping alone on an active pvp server and don't want to pvp, I recommend the waterfall spawn.  It can see another path and is very rarely visited in traffic.  I never had a fight around the waterfall.   And if somehow that one is bad, go to the Ulduar spawn.

As usual, the lake spawn is still the best if your server isn't as active or if you're very confident in your abilities.  The brunnhildar spawn is the absolute most trafficked and most contested, at least on my server.  People will be doing dailies and pick a fight.  People will be herbing and pick a fight.  People will be flying toward the giants and pick a fight.  Brunnhildar was the worst spot to camp by a longshot on my server, and it's not even that terribly active (about 3-15 people in the peaks on both sides in the early mornings).

Note by Super Mario (seriously.) - i think it explains quite well, but maybe take into account what i mentioned, about stationing by the four path camp spot when you are certan nobody else is in the area xD

Note by Ponderance - I didn't want to take part in PVP so I tested being ghosted at Frozen Lake, Brunnhildar and Ulduar. Saw a waterfall Vyragoas pass while ghosted, let it go. Saw a FL spawn right in front of my level 73 DK, 115 ilvl, no heirlooms. Accepted my body back, killed Vyra in blood starting at half life. So, you can definitely kill yourself on spawn points you want to camp and pull out and attack the moment something spawns and not have to worry about fucking with pvp at all. Also, you can't see the ghost of someone on the opposing faction so you can't see if they died and are sitting at the spirit healer, or logged out or what. It also can be misleading from the perspective of the person finding the body as to how long ago you died, why you died, did something spawn, where is it, etc.
