012 . Massive PVPness.  Not really.  Not at all, really.

I started back in Vanilla.  Yeah, that's not impressive.   I know.  Many did.  In fact about a third of the huge raiding guild I was in did. But before that, we had a hell of a lot of fun in PVP.  A lot of us were pretty nice.  If we heard there were Allies tooling around Hillsbrad Foothills, we tended to mount up and head there to defend the questers and such.

I was on Mal'Ganis.  Was with Giant Communist Robots.  (later forced to be renamed to Giant Censored Robots)  World pvp was pretty much as follows: If you wanted to quest, do it in a five man group or you were most likely going to be corpse camped by a half dozen level 60s.  Or more.  When the Necropolis invasion happened, shit hit the fan.  We were about six to one, Horde to Alliance.  Then this massive Alliance guild xferred in. Nobody really knew until one day we were doing the Necropolis quests and in came a raid group of 40 Alliance sporting the same guild tag from the south.  We called in a ton of the guild and as they were arriving in various 10-20 man sized raid groups another group of 40 rode in from the West.  Same Alliance guild.  We were like ..... What the fuck?  Where did these guys come from?  They had a ton of more pvp oriented gear so we were getting beat down nicely.  Others on the server were coming to help and when we thought we had hope a third, smaller, probably 15 or 25 man group from yet the same Ally guild rode in from fuck knows where.

Video lag up the ass, it was.  But it was awesome.  It was damn awesome.

We got our asses handed to us, by the way. But it didn't last long like that for them.  They made it interesting for a while.

I miss TM vs. SS in Hillsbrad.  I miss the DK (dishonorable kill) and HK system.  Instead of doing the intelligent thing and making DKs actually cause something like reputation to change, they did away with it.  I think they should have made a sort of karma system where the more DKs you got your reputation with all guards decreased.  And after a certain amount of DKs your rep could be so low any guard anywhere would attack you.  And over time, the rep would wear off and you would get back to Neutral.  And of course, if you never earned DKs you would go popular in the good way.  I know it's been done in quite a few games, but it does add a variously interesting dynamic to the game play.  Should be very simple to implement as well.  I don't exactly buy the woes of the WoW game engine being so stiff and inflexible.

The next thing, and I think this is a huge one, is line of sight.  No, I don't think LoS should go away.  I mean, they need to fucking fix it.  Huge ass tauren in the UC arena can't cast on someone on the other side of the casket in the center?  Are you kidding me?  Clearly the Tauren's eyes can see everything on the other side.  Yes, the Goblins and Gnomes can't see over it.  Great.  That should break their line of site if there isn't a taller person on the other side or something.  There has to be a way to make that work.  Also there are a large number of things in the BGs you can't see and surely wouldn't be able to cast or shoot through yet they don't break LoS.  And there are a large number of things you can see and shoot through that do break LoS.  There's a lot of inconsistency there.  A whole lot.  That shouldn't be hard to clean up.  And you would think if they were serious about making pvp as good as it could be, that sort of widely reported simple shit would be touched up quick like.

Talent trees.  Ok.  There are various ideas which could make this interesting and workable.  Not like now, when they try to make the PVP and PVE systems share the same elements in the trees / glyphs / etc.  They need to make a fork in the road before you even get to the trees.  What will your focus be?  PVP or PVE?  Click one.  And this should be the same in the second spec when dual specced.  So you can have a PVP specced DPS tree and a PVE specced heal tree on your druid.

AND GIVE US BACK FUCKING TREE FORM YOU RETARDED DOLTS, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?  WE CAN FUCKING STAY IN THE OTHER FORMS ALL DAY LONG BUT NOT TREE?  Make the other shit a fucking casted motherfucker too if you're going to fuck around, don't just make all the shit a druid can do cool but fucking healing.  Fuck you.  You retards.  Dear Blizzard Staff: If you work in the building where the people who decided to do that work, please, fuck with the shit in their desks and play pranks on them endlessly.  And if you already do, bravo.  They deserve it.

Gear.  Now, I like the fact there are PVP and PVE gear stats and sets separately. I do.  I mean, for the most part, it's not bad.  However, if someone is fully PVP geared and the system is focused in a way that one fails desperately hard in the other, don't let one type of gear queue for the other's shit.  I mean it's nice targeting PVE geared people in BGs and destroying them.  But for the people on their side it's fucking annoying.  And seeing a PVP geared healer come into the random is just .... I'm sure you've seen it and faceplanted on your keyboard in a deep sight too.

I mean if it would be fucking easier make straight up PVP and PVE servers where toons have totally different experiences leveling.  I'm sure that's the least likely thing to happen but if you play WOW for PVP, fucking should be on a PVP server anyway.  And visa versa.  So, having settings primed for PVPers on the PVP server from npcs to dungeons to questing and everything, and conversely PVE geared for PVErs only, would be bad ass.  Would be a lot easier than LOL THIS PATCH INSERTED SPIKED COCK IN PVE ASS back and forth game currently being played.

One thing that always annoyed the shit out of me about most every single map, especially Arathi Basin and shit....  There's no fucking strategy to approaching anything.  LOL COME IN FORCE LOL.  Put fucking cannons or something around for defense. Multiply spell range by 5x for BGs. Make a range based mechanic dictating accuracy.  This way, you could get attacked running around fucking off across the waterway from Blacksmith. There is nothing but running around not giving a fuck who sees you where, there's no strategy at all when it comes to points of assault or anything.  You rush, bring numbers in people and resil, and that's it.  Rock paper scissors is fun for two seconds and it gets old fast.

I'm not saying someone who worked their ass off for their sixty trillion resil gear shouldn't own the new pvper.  I'm saying, it should be possible for someone with strategic intelligence to plan an attack to forcefully enter the person's rear who spent a lot of time putting that gear together.  A lot of retards in top gear who don't have any brains at all.  Just lol spam two abilities and run around in circles.  Seriously sad to see.  If there was any requirement for mental acuity to do well in battlegrounds besides just knowing classes and some light reflexes....  These retards would probably quit.

And I know, I know, most of the shit I've talked about goes against the slow soft watering down of the game to appeal to and be widely accessible by the masses...  And I can dream, right?  No, I don't really pvp anymore...  All this stuff annoys me to the point I just never bother with it, even though I would ideally like to rake in as many of those achievements as possible. Ahh well!

To summarize:
Bring back Dishonorable Kills and use it to add an awesome dynamic to everything as a whole.
Fucking fix Line of Sight.
Quit trying to hybrid PVP/PVE.
Make strategy useful.

If you love the pvp system good for you.  That is seriously good for you, grats.  I don't.  Just how it is.  Difference of opinion.  :D
