. How To .

I've redone the How To to be more simple and hopefully more clear.  And before I begin:  If you see someone camping a spot, MOVE ON TO CHECK THE NEXT SPOT. Camping where someone is already camping is stacking.  And if you're stacking, you're literally telling that person "Fuck you, I'm going to cut throat you and take it for myself."  Dick move.  Don't be a dick.

. 04 . Further Points of Advice

DON'T LET PEOPLE PUSH YOU OUT
- One of the most frequent - and most pathetic - things you'll see while you're doing this if it's a long camp, is douchebags who think "well this person knows what they're doing apparently so I'm going to stack on them and ninja the kill from them."  Don't back down.  Try to explain to them there are other spawn spots and if there are any open direct them to them.  If they get too bad of course you will be better off just ignoring them and paying closer attention to the screen when they're around.  If they start doing things to make as much noise as possible to harrass you in ways /ignore can't block, start putting in tickets.  GMs have and will continue to ban people who take part in this behavior.  I've gotten people warnings and bans myself on area 52 alone for doing such things.  I'm not afraid to bring GMs into the mix if people are willing to take it to that level.

TRY TO STICK TO THE SAME SPOT
- I would never switch spots if I was camping by myself.  MOST ESPECIALLY if it's during an active spawn window.   Who's to say when you're switching spots it's not going to spawn behind you?  Pick a camp spot, and if it's during a live window don't leave 'till either you're done totally, something spawns, you have trustworthy confirmation something spawned or you have to go.

SEEK OUT AND GET IN TOUCH WITH OTHER CAMPERS
- As mentioned various times throughout this huge revised How To section of the site I repeatedly suggest hooking up with other campers (who aren't fuckwits) and getting a team together.  Even if it gets bigger than four, at least there's more and more of a shot the group can keep the spots covered.  Unless, you know, the people spending the time camping really thinks it's better for random people passing through or farming, anything, to get lucky and tag shit when campers could just man up and realize they have shitty chances anyway, but at least locking it down narrows it down to it being as good as 25% guaranteed each rather than "Fuck knows!  Lets run around blind and not know last kill time!"  :P

BE CAREFUL SHARING KILL TIMES TOO FAST
- It may seem like a logical way to get people trusting you to get grouped up and progress faster towards your goal.  However it's all too common for people to put on a good face to sweep up information to try to benefit themselves followed by them being alright with being by themselves and never sharing anything with you.  Best to party up and compare notes and take time before starting to disclose kill times that happen when they're not partied with you. Even camping with people during times you know there wont be a spawn.  I did this a lot.  I would bring people in and get people set up during 45 minute no-spawn times and those that stuck around through some spawns I would hook up with information that happened during times they weren't on.    Mutual back scratching and time spent, or close to the vest information.  That's what I'm trying to say.

FURTHERMORE, DO NOT BROADCAST VYRAGOSA KILLS IN GENERAL
- That will give cutthroats the 45 minute no-spawn window. I suggest skinning and keeping it quiet, like it never happened.  There's a time for helping and a time for trying to stay ahead of the game.

HOWEVER, DO ANNOUNCE TLPD KILLS
- This will show people who are out there, and if you've been talking to people and getting shrugged off, that you weren't bullshitting.  It has tended on servers who have followed my advice to get people together more and people with time-losts helping others get theirs, it just seems to be a win win on the credibility front.

DO NOT SEARCH BY FLYING
- First of all, don't fly around.  If you were told flying around is the way to do it, you were told wrong.  Think about the fact that there are four spawn spots.  Then think about the fact they can and do spawn and fly at various speeds.  None as fast as 280%, but some are close enough to be of concern.  Then imagine it spawns from any one of the spawn spots, and watch yourself on the map flying.  Any direction, think up some unstoppable pattern in your head.  Are you sure that'll bring you within range of it if it spawns a little faster or slower from an opposite direction of travel than you planned for when you made the path?  While it has a much larger visual range than most mobs in the zone you have to take into consideration the phasing areas, usually can't really see through those untill you enter the phase it's in, for one.  For another, storm peaks is massive and the four combined routes with all variations it takes is massive.  And if you're on a populated server at any given moment john nub could be passing a spawn spot by chance when it comes.  Where on the map might you be when that happens?  What if in making your path you cut out going over a couple spawn spots to save time and cover more ground faster, and somebody parked on one thus making it fully impossible you'll ever see a tlpd/vyra on that path?  After all I've seen I would never personally suggest anybody even consider doing this.

The only time I would say flying around is acceptable is if you are a casual farmer and you're just entering the zone and you want to do a quick sweep of the 4 paths just to check for a TLPD corpse.  This even I think is mostly a waste of time and just a security blanket but at the very outside most it's all I would even consider doing.  Just for that "Well, there wasn't any corpses on the ground when I flew over the ground, lets go park" feeling.

DO NOT CAMP MULTI-PATH SPOTS
- Unless of course you're on one of those servers where literally most of the day there are like, six people ever in storm peaks. Then hell, go for it. But the only one I would ever camp is this spot. I mean, six, like, horde and alliance. Seen several servers like that. But still, don't fly, and don't move around. Park. And sit. Now, why do I say on most servers, never do this? More and more people are learning about the spawn spots. The reality of how these two mobs spawn is spreading rapidly. You really don't know who's sitting on spawn spots. And if you're flying around checking spots every so often that's just as bad as flying around looking for tlpd to begin with.

DO NOT STACK ON PEOPLE
- All this is going to do in most cases is fuck people over, usually the person coming in to stack. If somebody's coming in to stack on a spot chances are the person already there has friends out camping with him. Either way, it's rude as hell and it's just going to make people not want to associate with you and if you're cold and alone out here you're going to be sitting through 45 minute no-spawn window after window after window. It's illogical.

DO NOT ASK IN GENERAL IF THERE HAVE BEEN SIGHTINGS
- It never really turns out well. I mean, if you want to learn for yourself, go for it.  But really usually all it does is things you don't want it to.  Gets people who want everybody to leave the zone so they can fly around flailingly seeking out the time-lost looking for you so they can fuck with you right near you on top of quite often in text.  It gives people who love to troll a great and easy way to troll.  Gives people who are bitter about their failed camps a chance to lash out and be a douchebag in one way or another.  Just doesn't really have enough good responses on any server I've seen it asked on.  I'd just not bother and stick to previously mentioned suggestions to keep a look out during no-spawn windows for campers and get in contact with them kindly and quietly.
